The digital image library ArtStor is now available through the Library Online. This library features hundreds of thousands of digital images covering a wide range of subjects across the arts, architecture, humanities, and sciences, all of which are licensed for use in academic work and teaching.

The Library will be closed all day on Monday 7th May for the May Bank Holiday.

The Library will be open as normal on Saturday 5th May from 9:15am to 1pm and will re-open again after the Bank Holiday at 8:30am on Tuesday 8th May.

The Library Online is available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day for access to ebooks, online journals, video and images.

Search for ebooks using the catalogue or use the Library Online pages on our web site to access all of our online resources.

The exhibition British Design 1948-2012 currently showing at the V&A Museum explores the impact and innovation of British designers in the post war period. It shows how British designers have gone on to lead the world across the fields of architecture, product and furniture design, textiles, graphic design and fashion.

The exhibition shows how social, economic and cultural forces have shaped design in Britain, through the immediate post war austerity years, through the 1950's and the Festival of Britain, the radical social changes of the swinging sixties, the subversive seventies, economic upheaval in the eighties and through to the present.

We are currently in the process of acquiring access to the online image resource ArtStor, and which we should be making available from May.

ArtStore contains more than one million digital images covering a wide range of subjects across the arts, architecture, humanities, and sciences, all of which are licensed for use in academic work and teaching.
You can get a better idea of the full coverage of ArtStor by looking at the subject guides available on the ArtStor web site.

We hope you had a good holiday and welcome you back for the summer term of 2012.

Books, DVDs, VHS tapes and CDs borrowed before Easter will be due back between the 16th and the 18th April depending on when you borrowed the item. We have spread the return dates to help us manage the reshelving.

If you want to check when your books are due back you can login to the Myloans section of the Library website www.aucb.ac.uk/library You just need to enter your student id number.
You can renew books online by ticking the box on the right hand side of each book title and then clicking on renew on the left hand side of the screen. Please check that the item has been renewed successfully as items that are reserved, overdue or have reached the renewal limit can't be renewed.
